The title of the song already refers to the late soloist Pekka Myllykoski of Freud Marx Engels & Jung, as Lintumies was one of the band’s most beloved songs and Pekka was a well-known ornithologist and nature lover. The Alhambra is a Moorish palace in Granada, Spain, now a World Heritage Site, which Pekka said he would never visit in his lifetime. The song Lintumies and the Alhambra was composed by Jussi Kinnunen and written by Hara Laukkanen.
Freud Marx Engels & Jung Revisited, founded by Kinnunen, has so far only performed old Freukkarit music with a transformative line-up and various soloists, some of them visitors. Now they are adding new original material and their debut album will be released in late spring 2025.
In terms of sound, Revarit has been compared to Freukkarit in the 90s, when Kinnunen and guitarist Pekka Virtanen played in the band.Tero Pulkkinen was part of Freukkarit for the last decade or so, and guitarist Arto Pajukallio for the band’s entire 30-year history. Samuli Halonen is the drummer and Juuso Rautava the guitar soloist in the six-piece line-up, with other members of Revarit also playing vocal soloists on selected songs.
